As bunny owners, we want to give our furry friends the best we possibly can. Safety is a key importance in having a happy healthy pet. In this post, I will provide you with a list of materials that are safe for your bunny to chew. These materials can be used to make toys or build pens, and hutches out of.

Wood:

All rabbits love to chew. Many rabbits like to chew on different types of woods. Many wood types are very safe for rabbits. Rabbits have constantly growing teeth. By chewing wood, they can naturally trim down their teeth and prevent very expensive vet teeth tripping visits. Many kinds of wood can be harmful to a rabbit with us even knowing. I have listed below the safest woods for rabbits to chew on.

Ropes and cords:

we want to tie something in our rabbit's cage or hang up one of their toys. What types of material should we use? Some strings can get caught in the intestines of a rabbit, causing major health concerns. I have compiled a list below of the safest type of ropes or cords rabbits can chew through.

Paper Products, Glues and Dyes:

Rabbits love paper and cardboard. Most rabbits enjoy bunstrustion in some shape or form. Sometimes when creating a rabbits toy we want to glue or dye the object. While many dyes and glues can be toxic a few can be used. The following are safe paper products, glues, and dyes your bunny can ingest.
